Onboard Attendance. GMDSS, Inmarsat, MF/HF, SSB, Radio Telex and VHF transceivers, Navtex, scanning receivers, battery chargers, SSAS, LRIT, ECDIS, NMEA distribution etc. Re-commissioning and re-flagging, attendance for radio survey. 'Health check' and preventative maintenance.

System problem solving. e.g. RFI, equipment ‘lock-up', intermittent failures. Resolution of  'we've changed all the boards and it still doesn't work'. Finding solutions where there is no longer any reliable documentation. Ability to work to component level if necessary.

Bespoke Electronic Solutions. The use of Microcontrollers and Windows Programming allow the design of bespoke projects like the NMEA Filter as well as the writing of utility programs to assist fault diagnosis and equipment programming.

Service Companies. If you have a requirement for an extra Field Service Engineer (EEC member countries and 'en voyage'), perhaps to cover a holiday period, on site help with a lengthy contract or as a fill in during staff training then please get in touch without obligation.

Ship Owners and Managers. With the right preparation we can sail with your ship tackling all those small (or big!) problems in much the same way as a Radio Officer did. This is especially effective for intermittent failures or defects that can only be checked whilst the ship is underway.

It doesn't have to be Marine. Quite often the same technical skills apply to Industrial Electronics as they do to Marine.
